Not everyone is prepared for or requires a thorough exploration of subconscious processes in a long-term counseling. Along with it, there's no need to continue bearing the burdens of what negatively affects our lives. In such cases, a short-term approach can be a beneficial option.
The following inquiries are typically focused and can be effectively addressed within a short-term counseling framework, often ranging from only one to ten sessions:
By addressing specific goals, short-term counseling enhances symptom management and prevents crises, making it an accessible option for those navigating temporary stressors or life transitions.
Long-term counseling often involves addressing deeper-rooted issues and ongoing challenges. Here are some examples of inquiries that are suitable for long-term counseling:
This kind of inquiries often require a longer duration of counseling, as they involve complex and multifaceted aspects of the individual's life and experiences. Long-term counseling provides the opportunity for deeper exploration, insight, and gradual change over time.
- Systemic and Family Constellations integrate elements of family systems theory, psychology, philosophy, and systemic thinking to address issues from multiple perspectives. This is a concise and focused approach to exploring relational dynamics and uncovering underlying patterns. Its efficiency allows to gain valuable insights, make tangible shifts in perception and behavior, leading to significant progress in a shorter time-frame.
In short-term counseling sessions, a constellation is arranged with objects found nearby on the client's side.
- Short-Term Body-Focused Therapy, developed on the basis of Somatic Experiencing® approach by Peter Levine. This approach acknowledges that our experiences are not only stored in the mind, but also held by our bodies, within the nervous system. By focusing on bodily sensations, movements, gestures, face expressions, narration, associations, and emotions, we facilitate the release, regulation, and integration of stored tension and trauma.
This gentle healing approach also helps restore balance, promote resilience, and cultivate well-being. It helps processing yet unprocessed experiences: like anxiety, panic reactions, grief, anger, feeling helpless, suppressed, or stuck, being afraid of something/someone, any of our responses to triggers that make our lives harder, etc.
$150 / session
Short-term solution-focused counseling sessions typically last between one to two hours, varying based on the specific issue being addressed, the client's current state, and their ability to process information, feelings, and emotions. Additionally, the duration may be influenced by the individual's level of self-awareness and the unique characteristics of their nervous system.
Some inquiries can be resolved, or significant healing shifts can occur, within a single session, while others may require multiple sessions. In general, short-term solution-focused counseling may range from one to ten sessions, depending on the complexity of the situation.
We select the approach (either systemic constellations or body-focused therapy) based on what is most effective for the specific client's situation, also taking into account their individual preferences and comfort level with these two methods.
Unlike in a long-term holistic counseling, solution-oriented sessions can be scheduled irregularly, based on observed progress.
